USCS Hawaii State Cup

A total of 57 teams representing the islands' top clubs are competing at US Club Soccer's Hawai'i State Cup this weekend, at the Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Complex on the island of O'ahu.  Title winners will gain direct berth to US Club Soccer's National Cup XV Finals in Aurora, Colorado later this summer.  Throughout the tournament, pdp/id2 scout, Gabe Rood, will be identifying top talent born between 2002 and 2004, for potential invite to Hawai'i's pdp camp this fall.  Read Full Story >>>

Maui's Tommy Musto Heads to Spain

Po'okela SC player, Tommy Musto, was officially named as one of the nation's elite, as US Club Soccer announced its 2016 id2  National Selection International Tour roster via YouTube on Thursday.  Musto's talent was first recognized on Maui—at the VIYSL hosted US Club Soccer Player Development Program—where Musto impressed id2 Director and NSIT Head Coach, Gerry McKeown.  Musto was called up by McKeown to attend the next-level  and final id2 Training Camp in December, where Musto earned his spot on the national 18-man roster.  Read Full Story >>>

Maui Boy Among Top US Club Soccer id² Players

Poʻokela SC player, Thomas Musto of Makawao was recently identified as one of eighteen elite players to appear on US Club Soccer’s id² National Selection team roster.  Musto’s selection was based on scouting and participation in a 4-day id² Training Camp in Arizona (December 2015), where a total of 114 players from across the U.S.—boys born in 2002 and 2003, and girls born in 2001 and 2002—engaged in several training sessions and games, as well as off-the-field discussion focused on player development.  Read Full Story >>>

US Club Soccer PDP - Hosted by VIYSL - On Maui

VIYSL Director, Vernon Kapua'ala, stated that, "this year's PDP Camp was an overall success, resulting in a more ambitious effort to grow the program, develop top talent, and provide for more opportunities for next-level advancement, statewide."  The O'ahu Camp recently concluded on October 8 and 9.  When asked about Hawai'i's players, Coach Gerry responded by saying, "I'm very impressed by the level, the passion for the game, and the intensity of which they play...the talent is good."  Read Full Story >>>
