ID2 ANNOUNCMENT + PDP RECAP [VIDEO]
US Club Soccer just announced that its id2 National Selection Tour Roster will be released shortly, where the Top-18 boys in the 2016 target cycle will travel to Spain in early April—to compete in the 17th Annual Mediterranean International Cup. No details have been released as to the national selection for girls, who typically attend the Nike National Training Camp—powered by ECNL and id2—at Nike Headquarters in Oregon. Said selections are based on performances from four id2 Training Camps held in 2016. The fourth and final (2016) id2 Camp at Casa Grande, Arizona, was attended by 11 Hawai'i players—selected as a result of attending one of two US Club Soccer PDP's—Hosted by the MISO Junior League on O'ahu and the Hawaii Soccer Federation on Maui.
Check out this video recap of Maui's PDP that was held in early October 2016, where Caneel Corpuz (Chicas, Big Island), Caetlyn Johannes (Valley Isle Soccer Academy, Maui), Conner Kong (FA Maui), and Tommy Musto (FA Maui), earned their invites to attend id2 Arizona this past December. At Maui's PDP, id2 Director, Gerry McKeown, remarked, "Hawai'i as a set of islands offers something different. I think by nature, it's a very competitive culture. It has some very unique athletes who are brave and strong, and powerful and different."
